Mesperado

I am excited to share that I had the incredible opportunity to participate in an enriching exchange program at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. This renowned institution is known for its commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence. During my time at Duncan of Jordanstone, I had the privilege of immersing myself in a vibrant artistic community, collaborating with talented peers, and learning from distinguished faculty members. The experience has broadened my artistic horizons, allowing me to explore new techniques, perspectives, and cultures. This exchange program has not only expanded my knowledge and skills but has also left an indelible mark on my artistic journey. I am immensely grateful for the support and inspiration I received during my time at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, and I look forward to incorporating these valuable experiences into my future work. Mesperado

With this project I decided to further explore one of the reprising characters in my nightmares. Well it’s usually it’s the main reason I have nightmares, it’s a being called Mesperado.

After research I found out that it’s Greek for always coming. I’ve been keeping a nightmare sketchbook, to get a better grasp at the dreams I’ve been having. I was inspired by Dali’s way of painting, by sitting in his studio with a lead key in his hand and, a lead plate at the floor. So the moment he fell asleep he would wake up and start painting what he saw in the dream. Whether this is a myth or his actual approach I find it quite interesting. So I started in a similar way, trying to do a quick sketch when I wake up from a nightmare that I could explore further in the morning.
